What no one told us is that joining the military, becoming one of their elite soldiers, requires us to leave behind all our pack instincts. They train us. Beat us. They break us and rebuild us into something more. Something the packs we left behind don’t understand. Something they fear.

When we leave military service, we’re told we have no home. No pack. No mate. No hope.
